Roof Tear Down
We started with the flat seam galvanized roof, weak from exposure and rust.
Peel off the original galvanized and inspect the tongue & groove substrate.
Remove the substrate where well worn to determine the extent of work needed.
Only a handful of the original curved rafters were still usable.
All the steel joists were inspected, cleaned and painted. New rafters were mounted on each side of the steel joists.
All the steel joists were in very good shape needing only sanding and new paint.
Determined: COMPLETE new roof needed.
With new rafters, spacers and trim the roof structure is rock solid.
